Earnings are now estimated at $8.31-$8.46 per share for the fiscal year, compared with a previous forecast of up to $8.51 per share.

This follows the subsidiary Rothmans, Benson & Hedges being ordered to pay substantial damages for tobacco-related injuries, which has forced it to file for bankruptcy protection.

Since acquiring Swedish Match in 2022, Philip Morris International's brand portfolio also includes the Swedish snus brands General and Ettan.
