The Genesis singer reportedly came close to death two years ago, he says in an interview with the Sunday Times.

My kidneys were giving up and so were my other organs, he says.

In the interview, Collins says he does not remember how his family, with a total of five children, including actor Lily Collins, came to the hospital to say goodbye.

I had no idea what was happening.

As recently as last year, a spokesperson denied that Collins was near death, saying he had only been hospitalized for knee surgery.

Today, the 75-year-old star walks with crutches and his kidneys are “barely functioning.” He receives care at home from a nurse and also has diabetes. In 2022, he did a farewell tour, performing while sitting down during the shows.
