The compilation compares over-the-counter products from various pharmacy chains' physical stores with their online stores. In some cases, prices are more than four times higher in physical stores.
It's a shame that some people may not be able to take advantage of the better price, says Isabella Ahmadi.
375 percent more expensive
The largest percentage price difference between physical stores and online shopping is primarily among the lesser-known brands that are often promoted as budget alternatives. Among the products that stood out were migraine pills, which in some cases cost as much as 375 percent more in physical stores.
It's surprisingly much more expensive to shop at physical pharmacies than online.
She advises that many pharmacy chains offer express delivery, so consumers can order online and pick up their goods in store the same day.
If you can wait two hours, you can buy at the online price and still pick up the product at your local pharmacy.
Online shopping is growing
Isabella Ahmadi also highlights that pure online pharmacies can be even cheaper than traditional pharmacies' online stores. Postnord's latest e-commerce barometer showed that sales at pharmacy online stores increased sharply in 2025. The increase has been visible for several years.
Many have probably noticed that there are different prices, but not everyone knows this, and it is not possible for everyone to shop online.
