Hotel magnate Petter Stordalen loses in the Norwegian Court of Appeal, which agrees with the Oslo District Court. The hotel investor must now pay 184 million Norwegian kroner in unpaid taxes.

Petter Stordalen was sentenced in the district court to pay 184 million Norwegian kroner in unpaid taxes, but appealed to the lagmannsretten – the equivalent of the Swedish court of appeal.

The background is that the Norwegian businessman withdrew more than 795 million Norwegian kroner from the company Oslo Properties, which was later transformed into Strawberry Fields. The Norwegian tax authorities believe that he should pay tax on it.
