Petter Lindgren, a poet and literary critic, had Malmsten as a mentor during his early writing years. He has been working on the biography for the past six years.
"I especially remember Bodil's persistence, the will to constantly hammer forward. (...) Six years, yes, but I have at least done my best to create a vivid picture of Bodil's complex personality, as she appeared in life and as a writer," he says in a press release.
Bodil Malmsten died in 2016 of complications from cancer at the age of 71.
"A book about Bodil Malmsten" will be published by Polaris on September 18.
