"A Man from the Future" will be released on October 9 and is a collaboration with author Andrew Hodges, who wrote a widely acclaimed biography of Turing, who was a leading figure in cracking Nazi secret codes during World War II. Yet he was prosecuted for his homosexuality and chose chemical castration over prison.
The album is structured as eight chapters in which different parts of Turing's life are explored, and a narrator shows how the mathematician was ahead of his time both professionally and privately, writes NME.
"Our motive for this work is to create a musical memorial to Alan Turing, who gave so much to his country and the world and was rewarded for it by being prosecuted for his sexuality," Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said in a statement.
