A man in his 80s has died after an apartment fire in Lundby, Gothenburg, reports Gothenburg Post.
The police were alerted to the fire in the multi-family house at around half past nine on Saturday evening after neighbors detected a smell of smoke.
One sees a strong smoke development coming from an apartment. The rescue service went in and smoke-dived in the apartment and found a deceased person in the residence, says Sebastian Börjesson, duty officer at the police.
A preliminary investigation into arson has been initiated to investigate why the fire started.
