The fire in the Hjällbo district of Gothenburg broke out during the night towards Monday.
We received the alarm just before 03 and assess that the fire is most likely arson, so we have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding arson, says Morten Gunneng, duty officer at police region West to TT.
The fire could be extinguished quickly. Five people are supposed to be registered at the address, according to the police.
We have no known motives as to why this particular villa should have been subjected to arson, there is nothing that stands out, but we have patrols on site and it is cordoned off, says Morten Gunneng.
