A 35-year-old woman has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter after an attempted murder in Örsundsbro outside Enköping.
We received an alarm about a violent incident at 3 pm and when we arrived at a company premises, we found an injured person who was awake and able to talk, says police spokesperson Stefan Larsson.
The police launched a large operation with several patrols and one person has been arrested near the crime scene.
An investigation into attempted murder has been initiated and we are currently conducting witness interviews on site, says Stefan Larsson.
The police announced later in the evening that the injured woman has stab wounds and that a sharp object believed to have been used in the crime has been found.
In connection with the incident, a school in the nearby area was evacuated as a precautionary measure, but the police consider it an isolated incident and there is no danger to the general public.
