It was while working on felling trees that the man was hit by a tree and died of his injuries, says Stefan Larsson, press spokesperson for the police.
The incident occurred in Tierp municipality and the police were alerted at 4:58 p.m.
The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the incident, which is not classified as a workplace accident.
