The Prosecutor's Office press service confirms to the newspaper that a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a villa was completely destroyed in a fire on the night of Sunday, April 26.
Earlier on Saturday, police announced that a man had been taken into custody.
"During the investigation the police have conducted, information has emerged pointing in the direction of a specific person, and that person has appeared to be of particular interest to the investigation. Therefore, that person has now been deprived of his liberty," police spokesman Robert Sennerdal told TT.
In the nights preceding the house fire, a recycling container, garbage bags, and a car had burned on the island in western Stockholm.
The investigation continues.
