One person has been arrested after Friday's shooting in the subway in Alby, south of Stockholm, according to the Prosecution Authority.

A person was arrested and detained last night at around half past ten, says Robin Simonsson at the Prosecution Authority's press service.

The person is suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offense. According to Aftonbladet the arrested person is a teenage boy who was arrested outside Stockholm. The Prosecution Authority does not want to comment on those details.

The person must be requested to be detained at the latest on Tuesday.

The Alby shooting has received great attention as it occurred in the middle of rush hour at the subway station. On surveillance images, which among other things Expressen has published, you can see how people flee in panic when they hear the shots.

The man who was shot was seriously injured, but not life-threateningly.

The subway station in Alby was blocked off for several hours after the shooting and a large number of police patrols were deployed in the hunt for a suspected perpetrator who was seen running from the scene.
