Bill Ackman makes bid to buy Universal Music Group

Pershing Square is making a bid to buy the entire Universal Music Group - a deal that values the company at more than $60 billion.

The bid by hedge fund billionaire and Trump supporter Bill Ackman's financial firm, Pershing Square, consists of approximately $10 billion in cash, with the remainder paid in shares, according to a press release.

Universal has artists such as Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga under contract.
