Pernilla Lindberg has played her last round of golf. After missing the "cut" in Hawaii, the tears came. I will miss all the memories I have created, all the people, she says.

39-year-old Lindberg announced at the end of September that she was pregnant and that her golf career was no longer a priority.

"I'm ready to take a step back from tour life and focus on being a mom", she wrote on Instagram.

Now the Swede, whose major highlight was the victory in the Ana Inspiration 2018, has made her last round. With five strokes over par, she did not make the "cut" at the USA tour's competition in Hawaii.

I've given it my all out there and I'm ready for the next chapter in my life, she says after the competition.

I've played for 16 years, it's much longer than I ever could have dreamed of. It's gone by incredibly fast. I've shed many tears of joy in the last half hour, and it's because I will miss all the memories I've created out there, all the people.

As the reigning champion in Ana Inspiration, the Swede states that she plans to play the competition in the future, but that it will probably not be many more than that.

Pernilla Lindberg and her husband Daniel Taylor, who is also her caddie, are expected to become parents in March.
