In addition to soft drinks, including Pepsi, PepsiCo makes coffee drinks, tea, snacks and cereals.
The forecast reduction comes in an interim report in which PepsiCo reports third-quarter earnings of $2.34 per share, slightly above the expected $2.29 per share.
Net sales rose 5.7 percent year-on-year to $25.3 billion in the quarter, compared with analysts’ average forecast of just under $25.0 billion.
The forecast for this year’s growth in profit from core operations has been lowered to 2.5–3.5 percent, from 5–7 percent previously.
