This is evident from a memo seen by the newspaper.
In it, Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg addresses defense industry executives and urges them - within 21 days - to submit plans for “significantly faster, more aggressive delivery schedules and/or increased production” of key weapons.
The call comes amid a domestic debate over the US weapons arsenal, following reports that the war in Iran has led to the country's stockpile of air defense missiles shrinking too quickly.
