The White House has repeatedly accused the university of being left-wing and promoting so-called "woke" ideology.
“Too many faculty members openly detest our military. They paint our armed forces in a bad light and silence anyone who questions their left-wing political views,” Hegseth says in a clip posted on X.
The move is the latest in a battle between the US government and the university. Just days ago, President Donald Trump accused Harvard of being “anti-Semitic” and said his administration is seeking $1 billion in damages from the university.
From the beginning, the feud between the president and Harvard was rooted in the president's demands, among other things, for state oversight of admissions, hiring practices, and political orientation.
