A group of gold customers, who had hoped to receive part of the so-called JLC gold, has been denied leave to appeal in the Supreme Court, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

A group of pensioners claims that the gold – found by craftsmen in a villa in Mölndal in 2023 – may come from a 1990s economic crime ring. However, the Supreme Court is not taking up their case.

Several other parties have been involved in the battle, which began when YouTube stars Carl Déman and Lucas Simonsson from the comedy group JLC bought the villa together in the fall of 2023.

Recently, however, the parties agreed on a settlement, in which the JLC duo and the estate of a previous owner of the house will each receive half of the gold and platinum bars found in the attic.

The ewes – worth around SEK 13 million – are being defended by the police pending legal disputes.
