Questions about ski jumpers' suits and penile injections to improve performance are circulating in the ski jumping world. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has been asked to respond, and on Friday it was the Norwegian national team's turn.
"It's not meant to be frivolous, but we can't relate to this at all. It's just a rumor; we haven't heard that there is any truth to it," says sports director Jan Erik Aalbu.
The background is reporting in the German Bild that ski jumpers were being injected with hyaluronic acid before the 3D scanner measurements that form the basis for the suit's design.
The measurement is based on the lowest point of the genitals, and a larger suit could contribute to longer jumps.
