Sotheby's is auctioning the shirt online and bids can be submitted between June 29 and July 16.
Pelé was only 17 years old when he scored two goals in Brazil's 5–2 victory over Sweden at Råsunda.
"This is a garment worn by one of the greatest footballers in history on the day his dominance began," says Sotheby's director Brahm Wachter.
According to The Athletic, Sotheby's expects the shirt to sell for around $6 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 56 million.
Pelé, whose full name was Edson Arantes do Nascimento, died of cancer in December 2022 at the age of 82.
