Pope Francis has had a "peaceful night" after experiencing acute breathing problems on Friday, according to the Vatican.
The 88-year-old pope is suffering from double-sided pneumonia and has been hospitalized since February 14.
On Friday, he was put on a respirator and the Vatican described the situation as "critical". The pope was affected by an isolated incident that led to vomiting and acute deterioration of breathing, according to the Vatican.
Doctors say it will take one to two days to assess how the incident has affected the pope's overall health.
