Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado feared for her life during the risky journey from her homeland of Venezuela to Oslo, she says at a press conference in Oslo.

There were moments when I felt like my life was in real danger, and it was also a very spiritual experience, because ultimately I felt like I was in God's hands and that whatever happens, happens.

Corina Machado, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her fight for freedom and democracy in dictatorial Venezuela, does not want to reveal any details about how she managed to get out of the country, where she has been living in hiding since last year.

American media have reported how the Peace Prize laureate made his way out of Venezuela wearing a wig and disguise, and then crossed the Caribbean Sea to the Dutch island of Curaçao in a fishing boat.
