Nobel Committee Secretary Kristian Berg Harpviken says that he has received this confirmation from the laureate.
"I was in contact with Machado last night (Friday) and she confirms that she is coming to Oslo for the ceremony," he says.
He adds that for security reasons he cannot say more about how or exactly when the laureate will arrive.
Machado receives the Peace Prize for her "tireless work in promoting democratic rights for the Venezuelan people and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy," according to the citation.
