The profit per share is calculated according to the new forecast to be 5.35-5.39 dollars per share this year, according to the company, which flags a dividend of 14 cents per share during the fourth quarter.
Previously, the profit forecast for the year was 5.15-5.30 dollars per share.
Paypal's share, which has lost 18 percent so far this year, rises 14 percent in pre-trading in New York.
For the third quarter, Paypal reports an increase in payment volume of 8 percent to 458.1 billion dollars. This can be compared to an average forecast of 450.3 billion.
