Paulos Abraham Shines as Hammarby Dominates IFK Göteborg 4-0

Paulos Abraham got the last word. The 22-year-old's Hammarby got revenge on his old club, IFK Göteborg, in the Allsvenskan premiere round and won 4–0. It's clear that it feels great, he says.

Paulos Abraham was on loan from Dutch Groningen to IFK Göteborg last season, and it looked for a long time like the winger would stay with "Blåvitt".

That didn't happen.

Instead, he chose to reject the club for a spot in Hammarby, which sparked strong emotions among Göteborg supporters. And it didn't get any better when Abraham said before the cup match that they would "slaughter Blåvitt".

So, he got to hear about it, after the cup quarterfinal ended 0-4 three weeks ago.

"Expected it"

It's understandable. I didn't expect anything else. That's what it is, he says and continues:

I've had a lot. Not just before this match, but ever since I came, it's been incredibly much.

Abraham tells us that he's done what he can to shut out the reactions, both from the stands and on social media.

It came a bit. Then I tried not to think too deeply about it, but it was a part. But I expected it.

"Superior"

But on Sunday, he got his revenge. Hammarby ran over IFK Göteborg and won with the same score in the Allsvenskan premiere round.

We were superior. I don't even remember if they had a shot. It was very nice. But anyway, it would have been nice to win against anyone. But very nice considering how it turned out last time.

Abraham signed a permanent deal with Hammarby last winter, and his contract runs until 2028.
