The single “Days We Left Behind” was released on Thursday. The former Beatle describes the song as “a memorial song for me.”
The album title refers to a street near where McCartney grew up in his hometown of Liverpool.
"I lived in a working-class area called Speke. We didn't have much at all but it didn't matter because all the people were amazing and you didn't notice that you didn't have much," he says in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter .
The album will be released in its entirety on May 29.
