In the village of Ejiba in Kogi state in central Nigeria, a pastor and eleven worshippers were abducted from a church on Sunday, state authorities announced.
Before that, on Sunday night, 14 people – including a woman who was about to get married and ten of her bridesmaids – were kidnapped from the village of Chacho in Sokoto state in the northeastern parts of the country.
In total, several hundred people have been kidnapped by criminal gangs in recent weeks in Nigeria, where the perpetrators are demanding ransoms for their release.
