Passenger trains resume between China and North Korea after six-year hiatus

The service will resume on Thursday, according to travel agencies and vendors in China. Chinese citizens who are traveling to work or study in North Korea are allowed to buy tickets, as are North Koreans who are traveling to work, study or visit relatives abroad.

People who want to cross the border as tourists will not be allowed to buy tickets.

Passenger train services between the countries were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been at a standstill since then.
