A 56-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of his partner in Grythyttan in Hällefors municipality, Örebro District Court announced.
According to the indictment, the man murdered the 46-year-old woman in their shared home, sometime between December 5 and 6, 2024. The man is said to have killed the woman by strangling her.
After the murder, the man dumped the body in a lake. The body was found in the lake in March 2025.
"The district court has, after examining a number of pieces of evidence, concluded that it is beyond reasonable doubt that the man killed the woman and then moved the body in the manner alleged by the prosecutor," said court chairman Anne Olsson in a comment.
The man was also convicted of grave trespass.
