"I didn't see her, I just followed her out into the forest," says Berglund about the moment when Ebba Andersson skied across the finish line as Olympic 5000 champion.
"The tears come from behind the glasses when you step into the stadium and see her name at the top. It's an awesome feeling," says Berglund.
In the stands, Ebba's father Per Ola Andersson and mother Åsa Lundmark remained standing for most of the race. However, with miles remaining, Lundmark began to feel confident.
"It's clear that this means a lot. It was her goal to win a gold medal," says Lundmark.
The parents will celebrate with bubbly before heading home on Monday. Berglund is preparing some good food.
"If I know Ebba right, she will want to have a nice dinner in Östersund. It's not a big extravagance," says Gustaf Berglund.
