The Prime Minister is calling the parties in the Riksdag to a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee this week, TT has learned.

The meeting is taking place because of a US threat of increased tariffs against EU countries, including Sweden, if the US is not allowed to take over Greenland.

The Foreign Affairs Committee, on which the King also sits, is to be convened at major foreign and security policy events or before major decisions. The purpose of the committee is for the government to inform parliament and the opposition about the situation. The committee has 19 members, including the Speaker of the Riksdag. The King chairs meetings if he is able to attend.
