”Michael”, which is about Michael Jackson's life, is intended to have its world premiere in the spring of 2026. But his daughter, the artist Paris Jackson, strongly distances herself from the film.
On Instagram, she writes that she had comments on the script that were not heeded by the filmmakers.
”Then I moved on with my life. It's not my monkeys, not my circus. (...) The thing with these biographical films is that it's Hollywood. It's fantasies, it's not genuine but it's sold as truths. It's sugarcoated and the entire narrative is controlled. There are many inaccuracies and outright lies”, she writes.
"Michael" is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who has previously made, among other things, "Training day" with Denzel Washington. The role of Michael Jackson is played by Jaafar Jackson, who is the son of Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine.
Michael Jackson passed away in 2009.
