Last week, Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD) announced that the government wants to move forward with the proposal to introduce a 15-year age limit for social media.
The issue is hot - age limits have been introduced in several countries. A recent report from the Internet Foundation shows that Swedish parents are generally positive about age limits.
Nearly six out of ten parents surveyed who have children aged 8-19 see the main benefits of age restrictions on social media. Almost one in three adults believe that requiring identification on social media would affect their own use.
Among children and young people, only just over two in ten (24 percent) primarily see advantages to having an age limit.
