The three small children had severe dental injuries. Many of the teeth were in such poor condition that they had to be extracted.
The trial against the parents, who are charged with gross assault, begins today, and they risk imprisonment, according to P4 Sjuhärad.
It was the dentists in Borås who raised the alarm about the children's oral health. The prosecutor's evidence against the family consists, among other things, of several images showing the damaged teeth, and witness statements from a dentist who describes getting a stomach ache from looking into one of the children's mouths.
For one of the children, it was so bad that eight teeth had to be extracted under anesthesia. The siblings also risk future problems.
The parents deny any wrongdoing.
