The girl had fallen the night before and hit her head. She was vomiting and tired, but the parents contacted medical services only the next day - when the girl no longer showed any signs of life.
When the ambulance arrived, the child's life could not be saved.
"As a parent, you have a duty of care for your children and I believe that it was a matter of taking a serious risk when the parents, despite the girl's symptoms, chose not to seek care or contact medical advice after the incident," says Public Prosecutor Henning Signarsson in a press release.
