Rib fractures and multiple bruises were found on the child last year. The parents have now been remanded in custody after a medical examination showed that the injuries could not have been caused by illness or by childbirth.
The parents deny any wrongdoing and have said that the injuries occurred when they performed CPR on the child.
The child should have recovered physically and should be developing normally in the family home where they have been placed.
