It was at the beginning of December that residents in Visby and the surrounding area who use municipal drinking water were urged to boil their drinking water.
On Tuesday evening at 10 p.m., test results came back showing that there are parasites of the types Giardia and Cryptosporidium in the municipal drinking water in the area, writes Hela Gotland.
It has now been announced at a press conference that the cooking recommendation will remain in place over Christmas and likely until the end of January.
The parasites Giardia and Cryptosporidium can cause symptoms in the form of stomach ache and diarrhea.
