Paramount Skydance's offer of $31 per share values Warner Bros. Discovery at approximately $81 billion. Including debt, the purchase price amounts to more than $110 billion, equivalent to just over SEK 993 billion, according to a press release from the companies.
The merged company will include CNN, HBO and Nickelodeon, among others.
The agreement was signed the day after Netflix announced that it would not match Paramount Skydance's bid, saying the deal was "no longer financially attractive."
The mega-deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, must first be approved by U.S. authorities. Paramount has promised to pay a $7 billion fee if the deal is not completed.
