The settler, who is part of a “regional defense force” armed by the Israeli military, spotted the paraglider near the Israeli settlement cluster of Gush Etzion on Saturday morning and then fired into the sky.
The paraglider escaped unharmed, the newspaper The Times of Israel reports.
According to the Israeli military, the paraglider had informed them of his flight, but then allegedly deviated from his approved route.
“The incident is under investigation,” the military said.
