The Swedish game company Paradox Interactive is now completely scrapping the upcoming life simulator "Life by you".
In conjunction with this, they are also shutting down their wholly-owned game studio Paradox Tectonic in California.
Tectonic has since 2019 led the development of "Life by you", which was intended to take on EA's extremely popular series "The Sims". The launch of the game has previously been postponed three times.
"This is both tough and dramatic news for all our colleagues at Tectonic who have worked hard for "Life by you's" early access release. With the closure of their project, we unfortunately have to take the tough decision to shut down the studio", says Paradox Interactive's CEO Fredrik Wester in a press release.
Corrected: In an earlier version, there was an error about which company was being shut down. In another version, the CEO's first name was incorrect.
