The opera will premiere at Norrlandsoperan in the fall of 2027, the year when Olof Palme would have turned 100.
“The idea is to portray the story of the people's home reflected in the life of Olof Palme,” says artistic director Dan Turdén in a press release. He believes that Olof Palme has everything one “wants from a main character in an opera.”
Opera's CEO Helle Solberg describes Palme as "the most discussed prime minister in recent times."
