Settlers with bulldozers had established new positions on land outside Bethlehem that is supposed to be under Palestinian control, according to Palestinian and Israeli reports.
The Israeli military is reported to have removed the settlers from the area on Thursday, but the settlers have since returned.
In the ensuing incident, settlers shot and killed a man from the Palestinian family that owns the land, relatives told Haaretz. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, the man was shot in the head. Three others were injured. According to Israeli police, a suspected shooter has been arrested.
In a separate settler raid in the northern West Bank on Thursday, Palestinians reported gunfire and several injuries.
