The 23-year-old was shot in the village of Deir Jarir and later died at a hospital.
The Israeli military confirmed the incident on Saturday evening, saying in a statement that soldiers were sent to the village following reports of stone-throwing Palestinians. One of the soldiers reportedly fired warning shots and then opened fire on a Palestinian in the ensuing commotion.
Violence in the West Bank has escalated since the US and Israel's war against Iran began on February 28. 22 Palestinians have been killed in that period, at least six of them by Israeli settlers, according to Palestinian health authorities.
