Meetings concern "the national (political) scene in general and the setup after the war in Gaza ends", according to sources for the state-affiliated Al Qahera News.
According to the US peace plan for Gaza, which is behind the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, Hamas is to be disarmed in the long term and not be allowed to be part of the future governance of the territory.
After a period of technocratic transitional government, the plan however opens up for a reformed version of the Fatah-affiliated Palestinian Authority, which leads a limited self-government on the occupied West Bank, to play a role in a future Palestinian state formation.
