The declaration of intent signed by Iran and the United States with the aim of ending the war is the United States' declaration of defeat, says Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's chief negotiator for relations with the United States.
The agreement in Islamabad was not the result of pressure or coercion, but the result of the courageous Iranian nation's resistance and authority, he said at a conference in Azerbaijan broadcast on Iranian television.
That's why Islamabad's memorandum of understanding became a declaration of America's defeat, he said.
The technical talks will resume next week, probably at the beginning of the week, Tahir Andrabi, spokesman for Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, said.
