The Taliban regime in Afghanistan has recently threatened counterattacks after Pakistan's deadly airstrikes on the country a few days ago. Overnight, the military said it had carried out air operations against Pakistani border provinces.
Pakistan, for its part, claims that its air defenses identified and intercepted at least four drones.
"If the Afghan Taliban continue to provoke Pakistan, they will receive a befitting response that will cost them dearly," the military wrote in a statement.
The countries have been targeting each other for several months. The Pakistani government accuses the Taliban regime in Kabul of, among other things, supporting and harboring Pakistani resistance groups.
