This diminishes hopes that Iran's indirect peace talks with the United States will start moving again.
Marco Rubio said on Thursday that he believed “the Pakistanis are going to Iran today.” But when he arrived in Sweden on Friday for the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Helsingborg, he was more vague, speaking only in general terms about continued “small progress” in efforts to reach an agreement.
At the same time, Rubio sounded strongly critical of Iran's strategy in the blocked Strait of Hormuz.
Iran is trying to create a toll system. They are trying to get Oman to join a toll system for an international waterway - no country in the world should accept that.
