The announcement of the visit came from Defence Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei, who said the visit would strengthen bilateral relations.
But attempts to mediate peace are also on the agenda, as the visit is part of "Pakistan's ongoing efforts to support peace and security in the region."
Pakistan earlier in August signed a joint defence agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey, which is seen as a way to balance Iran's regional influence.
