The Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao hints that a rematch against the American Floyd Mayweather may be on the way next year. The last time the star veterans met was 2015.

Right now, we have many negotiations about my next match – there is a possible return match against Floyd Mayweather, says Pacquiao at a press conference on Wednesday and continues:

There are many negotiations going on right now. I am waiting for the final agreement.

Manny Pacquiao's CV contains twelve world championship titles in eight different weight classes, something that no one else has managed. In June, Pacquiao was elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

A month later, the 46-year-old also made a comeback in a match against Mario Barrios, who however retained the title after a draw and split decision.

Pacquiao lost to Mayweather in 2015 in a match called "the match of the century", but he later revealed that he had been hindered by a shoulder injury.

I would love to have another match, a return match, against Floyd Mayweather. I hope we can understand each other and come to a good agreement, says Pacquiao.

Mayweather, 48, may have a hectic 2026.

Boxing production company CSI Sports announced last month an exhibition match between the undefeated Mayweather and legend Mike Tyson next year. No date or location was specified in the announcement, however.
