Elfström was a little unlucky to lose the ball when BP launched a dangerous counterattack in stoppage time.

Perhaps justice was served after all, considering how Elfsborg's equaliser in the 63rd minute came about. BP goalkeeper Leo Cavallius was then left with a head injury after a collision with an Elfsborg player, but the referee allowed play to continue and Momoh Kamara was able to shoot in the 1–1 equaliser into an unguarded BP goal.

Cavallius was treated after the knock and had to be substituted immediately after the goal.

League leaders BP, who opened the scoring through Anton Kurochkin in the second minute, now have 27 points with the victory and are on increasingly secure ground in the Swedish Football League.

For fifth-placed Elfsborg, the run of five straight matches without a loss is over.
